Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a passion for landscaping and gardening. The Groundskeeper will work with both hand tools and power tools to ensure that all areas are well-kept and inviting. This is a seasonal position intended for students looking for summer employment.
Duties
- Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas by mowing, trimming, and planting as needed.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including weeding, mulching, and fertilizing.
- Utilize hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners for various gardening tasks.
- Operate power tools like lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers safely and efficiently.
- Keep grounds clean by removing debris, litter, and fallen branches.
- Power washing surfaces (driveway, patio, walkways etc.)
- Cleaning and maintaining outdoor furniture.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools related to groundskeeping tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site in Kingsville.
