Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Gas Station Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and maintain a welcoming environment for all customers. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail setting. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or cashiering are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales opportunities.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a courteous manner
- Operate POS systems accurately to process cash, credit, and debit transactions
- Handle cash handling responsibilities with integrity and accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and store shelves
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions or specials to increase sales
- Conduct product demos when applicable to inform customers about new items
- Manage phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Ensure proper merchandising of products to maximize visual appeal and sales potential
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and product organization
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure a secure shopping environment
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred
- Multilingual skills or bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Spanish) are advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, and cash handling procedures is essential
- Strong communication skills, time management, and organizational abilities are required for success in this role
- Experience with upselling techniques and product demonstrations can be beneficial for increasing sales performance
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
