Duties
- Assist experienced mechanics with diagnosing and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
- Learn to perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical components
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to understand system layouts and repair procedures
- Support the inspection of equipment for safety issues or potential failures using electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Participate in heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Gain experience operating industrial equipment under supervision while adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge with a strong desire to learn more about automotive repair and heavy machinery
- Mount and Balance Tires
- Oil Changes
- Brake Services
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and schematics is a plus
- Experience or interest in dealership work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a variety of environments
- Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills for troubleshooting mechanical issues
