Position Overview:
We’re a growing company with exciting opportunities for career advancement. We’re seeking a skilled and Certified Automotive Technician to join our Downtown team in Nanaimo.
The ideal candidate will be a Red Seal/Journeyperson Technician with a passion for automotive repair, a commitment to quality, and a collaborative mindset. However, we are also open to considering an ambitious and driven 3rd-year apprentice actively working towards certification and eager to grow their skills within our team.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of vehicles and systems. From routine maintenance to complex drivability concerns, electrical diagnostics, diesel repairs, transmission diagnosis, and everything in between, our technicians are encouraged to continually expand their knowledge and confidently take on new challenges. While everyone has strengths and specialties, a willingness to learn and work on a broad range of repairs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose vehicle concerns using advanced diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information.
- Perform routine maintenance and complex mechanical repairs on a wide variety of domestic, import, European, and light-duty diesel vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, engine, A/C, electrical, HVAC, and transmission-related concerns.
- Follow all safety standards and workplace procedures.
- Accurately document inspections, diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and repair recommendations using our shop management software.
- Communicate effectively with fellow technicians and service advisors throughout the repair process.
- Participate in ongoing training and continually develop technical knowledge across all areas of automotive repair.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Automotive Technician.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician (references preferred).
- Strong diagnostic abilities and a solid understanding of automotive systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer service information.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Willingness to relocate to Nanaimo, BC.
- A positive attitude with a desire to continually learn, diagnose, and repair a broad range of vehicle concerns.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
