The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Shop Lead, or where applicable the Project Leader the incumbent will provide support services to projects in the shop. This position is needed as soon as possible and will be required for approximately 4 weeks, with possibility of extension.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the general duties of this position, but are not inclusive of all the detailed tasks that may be required:
- Maintaining buildings and grounds
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials using appropriate equipment
- Safely operate hand tools and power tools as trained
- Perform basic maintenance on shop equipment as assigned
- Assist with equipment setup and teardown
- Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Perform basic quality checks as directed
- Assist with shop maintenance projects
- General organizing and cleaning of the area to keep it safe
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge – operation and servicing of equipment, use of tools
- Forklift training considered an asset
- Ability to work well in a team setting while also able to take initiative when working independently
Credentials and Experience:
- Ideally 1-2 years of relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
