Materials Distribution Agency (MDA) is a Special Operating Agency in the Province of Manitoba. The position provides medical equipment delivery, installations, service and repairs for Manitoba Government funded programs. Medical equipment technicians provide on call service for equipment as well as the Manitoba Vaccine program. The position provides critical support services to Health Care clients and facilities.
Duties:
Under the direction of the Medical Equipment Supervisor, the Medical Equipment Technician is required to perform electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance of all “on program” medical equipment. The Medical Equipment Technician must have a mechanical and electrical aptitude with considerable knowledge of performing electrical/mechanical repairs. The Medical Equipment Technician is required to be on standby/on-call status on a rotational basis to respond to client concerns regarding medical equipment, and provide back up support for warehouse operations when required to ensure that Agency performance targets are met.

Qualifications:
Essentials:
- Electromechanical Technician Certificate or Trade Certificate, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience with maintenance, repair, installation, and distribution of equipment
- Experience driving a company service vehicle for the purpose of delivery and pick up of products
- Experience working in a warehouse environment, including picking and packaging orders
- Excellent customer service experience dealing with a diverse group of people
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive work relationships with internal and external clients
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 66 lbs.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be able and willing to to be on standby on a rotational basis or as required.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Must be able and willing to obtain Power Forklift Certificate, Dangerous Goods Certificate, Electrical Safety Certificate, and Good Manufacturing Practices Certificate (GMP).
- Must have satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
