Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Licensed Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to patients, assist with frame selections, and ensure accurate lens fitting. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. The Licensed Optician will play a vital role in helping patients achieve optimal vision and satisfaction with their eyewear.
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting frames that suit their style, face shape, and prescription needs
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting and ensure proper alignment of eyewear
- Verify prescriptions and process orders accurately using optical software systems such as WINK
- Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and care instructions
- Manage retail sales transactions, including processing payments and insurance claims
- Maintain an organized optical display and stock inventory as needed
- Collaborate with optometrists and other staff to provide seamless patient care
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations related to optical services
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and prescriptions
- Experience working in an optical setting, including laboratory experience for lens processing is preferred
- Strong retail sales skills with the ability to upsell products effectively
- Familiarity with optical software systems such as WINK is a plus
- Previous experience in retail management or supervising staff is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
