Job Summary: Part time: Must be available on weekends and for overnight shifts.
We are seeking a friendly and professional Guest Service Agent to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming experience. This role involves managing guest inquiries, handling reservations, and maintaining smooth front desk operations to uphold our commitment to guest satisfaction. Multilingual abilities and hospitality experience are highly valued to enhance communication with diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
Greets and registers guests. Calculates, receives and posts appropriate cash payments or records and authorizes credit cards.
· Checks in and updates sign-in sheets for airline crews and photocopies completed sheets for Housekeeping.
· Takes telephone reservations and accepts walk-in guests.
· Provides foreign currency exchange within guidelines set by hotel management.
· Provides information on hotel services and amenities. Upsells the guest whenever possible.
· Provides information on local transportation, area attractions, shopping malls and tours.
· May deal with Tour/Group Escorts and process group wake-up calls to switchboard.
· Relays guest problems, complaints or emergency situations to the Night Manager or Supervisor on duty.
· Maintains guest accounts and posts any miscellaneous charges such as those for bus transportation, parking, Gift Shop, etc.
· Must respond immediately to any alarm situations and may, in the absence of the Manager, attend the fire panel room and operate the public address system.
· Monitors and processes incoming faxes.
· On busy nights, may assist with audit functions and room service as required.
· Manually checks in or out guests, providing deposit refunds and/or receipts as required. Addresses any concerns the guest may have regarding his charges.
· Will rotate through the Front Desk, Security and Audit functions to maintain equal skills.
· Will assist with training new employees as required.

By pervious experience or on the job training must become proficient with Opera, Excel, email and basic interface functions. Computer literacy is a must and must have good keyboarding skills. Must be detail oriented and accurate in all accounting work habits. Understanding of hotel marketing programs would be an asset.
