Melville Curling Club is currently seeking an Ice Technician/Ice Maker for the upcoming curling season. Our 4-sheet club is home to many competitive events, bonspiels and league curling. Being a curler and having some knowledge of curling and ice conditions would be a key asset.
Position: Ice Technician
Location: Melville, Sk.

Responsibilities·
Install ice for curling in November and remove the ice at the end of March
As an Ice Technician you are responsible for the daily preparation, maintenance and care of the ice surface
Responsible to prepare the ice prior to each game
Have the ability to work flexible hours, including week nights and weekends
Maintain ice equipment throughout the curling season
Credentials:
Previous Ice Technician experience if any and with what club or clubs is an asset
Ice Technician training (level of certification) would be an asset
Willing to attend ice technician courses, funded by the club
Ability to work independently and a willingness to learn and take direction
Excellent communication skills and ability to train and work with volunteers
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing top quality ice for curlers of all levels
Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, pushing), and work in cold environments
Provide a Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
