Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to support the development, well-being, and safety of children and young individuals in our care. This role involves working closely with children, including those with disabilities, to foster a positive environment that encourages growth, learning, and emotional stability. Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in various settings, ensuring their safety at all times
- Develop and implement engaging activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional resilience
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance as needed
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, patience, and understanding
- Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to create individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, behaviors, and progress reports
- Assist in teaching life skills, self-care routines, and behavioral management strategies
- Promote a nurturing environment that encourages independence and confidence among children and youth
Requirements
- Experience working with children or individuals with complex needs is highly desirable
- Strong ability to teach, motivate, and support children’s developmental needs
- Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some positions may require evening or weekend hours
- Valid background check clearance is required; candidates must pass pre-employment screening
- Orientation training will be provided for qualified candidates
- A background check may be required to ensure safety and suitability for working with minors. This role

- Child and Youth Care / Child and Youth Worker diploma
- Criminal background check / vulnerable sector check
- Standard First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license
- UMAB or CPI
- References and resume showing relevant experience

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
