Full-time Program Assistant – Play & Learn
Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School
Medicine Hat Public School Division is taking applications for a Program Assistant for the licensed Play & Learn program at Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School. This is a 6-hour position. This is a ten-month position that includes competitive compensation and employee benefits.
The primary purpose of the Program Assistant will be to support the Primary ECE with implementing programming in the Play & Learn program for kindergarten-aged children. You will be responsible to deliver programming to support the development of early literacy, early numeracy, motor skills and social emotional growth of children participating in Play & Learn during the 2026-2027 school year. Successful candidates will remain in the position ongoing if enrollment supports.
Qualifications:

Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification required.

Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check less than six months old (required prior to employment).
- Current SIVA training and current Intermediate First Aid/CPR preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to carry out effective programming for young children.
- Interpersonal skills that result in building positive relationships through clear and kind communication.

An understanding of child development and experience working with young children with diverse needs.
- Ability to understand and follow Individual Student Plans and behavior support plans.

Experience with and understanding of the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Act and Regulations.
