Beyond Disability Services is a growing Oshawa-based organization providing structured day programming, respite, and support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from early years through adulthood. Our flagship program, Beyond 18, has expanded to support children, youth, and adults through meaningful programming focused on life skills, communication, independence, social development, emotional regulation, and community participation.
We are seeking a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) to support our continued growth and help strengthen our clinical and behaviour support framework.
Position Summary
The Registered Behaviour Analyst will work collaboratively with our team to support children, youth, and young adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and complex support needs.
This is a part-time onsite role with the potential to grow into a full-time position as our services expand. The successful candidate will provide clinical guidance, assist with program development, develop behaviour support strategies, support staff training, and help ensure that behaviour-based interventions are ethical, practical, individualized, and appropriate for our setting.
Key Responsibilities
The RBA will be responsible for:
- Conducting behavioural observations and assessments as needed
- Supporting the development of individualized behaviour support plans and safety plans
- Assisting with program development for participants with autism and developmental disabilities
- Providing guidance to staff on behaviour support strategies, de-escalation, reinforcement, skill-building, and data collection
- Reviewing participant needs, goals, risks, and support strategies
- Supporting staff training and coaching in the implementation of behaviour support plans
- Monitoring the effectiveness of strategies and recommending adjustments when needed
- Collaborating with families, caregivers, staff, and other professionals when appropriate
- Supporting the development of practical data collection tools and documentation processes
- Ensuring services are delivered ethically and within the RBA’s scope of practice
- Providing clinical sign-off and oversight where required
- Maintaining appropriate records, recommendations, and documentation
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Registered Behaviour Analyst
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience working with children, youth, or adults with autism and developmental disabilities
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and/or challenging behaviours
- Strong understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis principles
- Experience developing behaviour support plans, safety plans, and skill-building strategies
- Ability to train and support frontline staff in a respectful and practical manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Good professional judgment and understanding of scope of practice
- Ability to work onsite in Oshawa
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Day program, respite, school, residential, or community-based settings
- Supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Staff training and coaching
- Program development
- Behaviour support planning
- Working with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting OAP-related service requirements
