Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Internal Spray Coating Applicator located at our facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. Reporting to our Coating Foreman, this position is responsible for preparing, coating and painting the internal & external surfaces of steel tanks vessels, tanks, ULC tanks, Bins etc. and related components while meeting Foremost quality, safety and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare internal & external steel surfaces and components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and stripe coating.
- Apply internal spray coatings, resins, solvent drying paints, and linings according to approved procedures and product data sheets.
- Use, clean and service equipment associated with painting, coating, and insulating including hand-held spray equipment.
- Conform to quality control standards, construction specifications and customer coating requirements.
- Check coating thickness using appropriate gauges and tools, such as micrometers or calipers, to meet industrial standards.
- Inspect work for coverage, holidays, pinholes, runs, adhesion concerns and other coating defects, and report or correct deficiencies as required.
- Record coating details such as material batches, environmental conditions, surface preparation results and inspection measurements as required.
- Follow Company safe work procedures, legislated safety requirements, confined space requirements and working-at-heights requirements.
- Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of oil storage tank internal coating/painting or related industrial coating experience preferred.
- Spray coating experience is an asset; applicants with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail may be trained as required.
- NACE certification is considered an asset, but Foremost will train as required if needed.
- Working conditions include working at heights up to 40' + as well as working in confined areas and inside steel equipment for clients.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, coating specifications, safety procedures and product data sheets.
- Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools and accurately document work completed.
- Safety training such as WHMIS, Confined Space, Fall Protection, First Aid, is an asset, but will train as required.
- Must be reliable, safety-focused, able to work independently or as part of a team, and committed to quality workmanship.
