BOOM Builds is Hiring — Renovation Carpenter + Carpenter’s Helper
BOOM Builds is looking for an experienced renovation carpenter to join our crew full-time.
Not a carpenter yet? If you’re dependable, enjoy working with your hands and have wanted to learn the trade, we’re also looking for a carpenter’s helper. We’re willing to teach the right person and help them develop real renovation and carpentry skills over time.
RENOVATION CARPENTER — FULL-TIME
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in transforming homes for our clients to enjoy for years to come — not simply getting through a list of tasks.
Our projects over the past decade have been varied and interesting. One week might involve rebuilding a kitchen, the next a deck, bathroom, addition or garage. We’ve completed full-home transformations, restored heritage buildings from studs to finish, built cafés and apartments, and incorporated hardscaping and landscaping into larger renovation projects.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys seeing a project come together as much as we do, cares about the details that make finished work look right, and enjoys working with a crew toward a common goal.
The work may include:
- Interior and exterior carpentry
- Kitchens, bathrooms and complete home transformations
- Framing and structural work
- Windows, siding and decking
- Doors, trim and finish carpentry
- Drywall, painting and flooring
- Garages, additions and exterior improvements
- Selective demolition and careful reconstruction
The right person:
- Has solid residential renovation experience
- Produces clean, consistent work and takes pride in the finished product
- Can work independently and as part of a crew
- Communicates respectfully with clients and coworkers
- Keeps an organized and professional jobsite
- Is willing to learn, take direction and accept constructive feedback
- Has their own basic hand-tool kit — we provide quality power tools
- Has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s licence
- Is dependable and shows up when expected
Red Seal certification is welcome but not required. Broad renovation experience, reliability, problem-solving ability and workmanship matter more to us than a title.
We offer some flexibility with scheduling once reliability has been established.

CARPENTER’S HELPER
We’re also interested in hearing from someone who may not yet have extensive carpentry experience but wants to learn.
You should be dependable, comfortable with physical work, willing to listen and learn, and interested in developing a broad range of renovation skills.
This isn’t just a labourer position. For the right person, the goal would be to progressively teach you demolition, framing, decks, drywall, flooring, trim, doors, siding, finish work and the many other skills involved in residential renovation.
