Job Summary
I am seeking an experienced chef/line cook to collaborate on a new-to-penticton food concept. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high and consistent standards. But also have an entrepreneurial passion. This role involves preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations as well as being the "kitchen side" of the partnership. The Chef/Cook will work on the systems and processes of the business along with the other partner.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in menu planning and meal presentation to enhance customer satisfaction
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with food handling regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Follow all food safety procedures and maintain proper sanitation practices
- Work with the other partner to expand the business as growth opportunities appear
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Excellent skills in meal preparation and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a sole operator setting
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate and conceptualise
- Knowledge of serving techniques and customer service principles
- Prior kitchen or restaurant experience is a must
