Job Title: Electronics Bench Technician

About the Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Bench Technician to diagnose, repair, test, and refurbish a variety of electro/mechanical equipment and components. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with electronic circuits and mechanical components, and the ability to perform repairs at the component level.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, circuit boards, and equipment.
- Perform component-level repairs, including soldering and desoldering.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Test and verify repaired equipment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools.
- Document repairs, test results, and service records.
- Assemble, modify, and calibrate electronic devices as required.
- Maintain an organized and safe workbench environment.
- Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory management of electronic components and repair parts.
Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in Electronics Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment.
- Proficiency using test equipment such as:
- Digital multimeters
- Oscilloscopes
- Signal generators
- Power supplies
- Strong soldering and rework skills (through-hole and surface-mount components).
- Ability to read electronic schematics and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing industrial electronics, security systems, communications equipment, power supplies, or embedded systems.
- Proficient in soldering.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, digital electronics, and analog electronics.
- Experience with quality control and documentation processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling small electronic components.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
