Signature Honda is seeking a results-driven Subprime Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will specialize in securing vehicle financing for customers with challenged or non-traditional credit profiles. You will work closely with sales teams, lenders, and customers to structure approvals that align with lender guidelines while maximizing dealership profitability and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate brings strong lender relationships, deep expertise in subprime financing, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Structure and secure financing approvals for customers with subprime or limited credit histories
Build and maintain strong relationships with subprime and non-prime lenders
Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and deal structures to identify suitable financing options
Collaborate with the sales team to convert leads into approved and funded deals
Present financing options clearly and professionally, ensuring transparency and customer understanding
Maximize gross profit through effective deal structuring, lender selection, and product offerings
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including OMVIC and consumer protection laws
Submit deals accurately and follow through to funding, resolving stipulations efficiently
Stay current on lender programs, rate changes, and approval trends
Train and support sales staff on subprime deal structuring and qualification techniques
Maintain accurate and complete deal documentation
Qualifications
2–5+ years of automotive finance experience, with a focus on subprime/non-prime lending
Proven track record of securing approvals and funding complex deals
Strong understanding of credit analysis, lender guidelines, and risk assessment
Experience working with multiple lenders (banks, credit unions, and subprime finance companies)
Knowledge of applicable automotive finance regulations (e.g., OMVIC in Ontario)
Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
