Junior Sous Chef – Brickstone Kitchen + Bar
Brickstone Kitchen + Bar is seeking a dynamic and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key leader in the kitchen, you will play an integral role in executing exceptional food experiences, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and inspiring our culinary staff. Your energetic leadership will ensure smooth kitchen operations, foster teamwork, and uphold our commitment to fine dining excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality across all food offerings
- Lead food preparation and cooking activities, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste for all menu items
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training new staff, providing continuous training, assigning stations and duties, and managing shifts to promote teamwork and efficiency
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Oversee quality control for all dishes
- Cover for the Executive Chef and Sous Chef during absences
- Participate in menu planning with the culinary team, incorporating dietary requirements and seasonal ingredients
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in a full-service, table-service restaurant environment—preferably a steakhouse. Fast food or quick service experience will not be considered.
- Strong steak and grill experience mandatory
- Proven experience using kitchen systems, including inventory control, waste management, and cleaning schedules
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members
- Previous experience in ordering, inventory management, and shift coordination
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions, food handling safety standards, and quality control procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Benefits:
