Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator/Yard Worker to join our Ready Mix Team. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery, including loaders, backhoes,skidsteer and forklift, to support our Ready Mix Plant and yard operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, construction experience, and the ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in heavy equipment operation and construction to contribute to dynamic projects in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, and backhoes to move materials to feed the plant.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Assist with site preparation, grading and other construction activities as needed
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy equipment operation, including proper use of PPE
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes in a construction or industrial setting
- Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery or similar brands is highly desirable
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and basic repairs on heavy machinery
- Commercial driving experience is an asset (not Required)
- Construction background with hands-on experience in site preparation, grading, or related activities is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
This role requires candidates to demonstrate proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. Candidates should possess relevant experience in construction or industrial environments with a solid mechanical knowledge base.
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
