Assistant Irrigation Technician
Northview Golf & Country Club located in Surrey, B.C is looking to hire an Assistant Irrigation Technician. Northview is a 400 acre property with two 18 hole Arnold Palmer Designed Championship Courses. The property has complete irrigation coverage on both golf courses, clubhouse gardens and entrance way.
The Assistant Irrigation Technician would be an integral part of the leadership team and work with the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents and Lead Irrigation Tech to maintain the irrigation system at a high level. The right candidate should be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and communicate with staff and management to accomplish goals.
Basic to Limited knowledge is acceptable as we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Trouble shooting leaks and wiring issues.
- Repairing irrigation pipes, fresh water lines, and irrigation wiring.
- Hand watering.
- Maintenance of Pumps, Pond fountains, and Drinking Fountains.
- Charging the irrigation system in the spring and winterizing in the fall.
- Assisting in Day to Day course maintenance as required in the off season.
The following would be an asset but not required
- Knowledge of a Rain Bird Cirrus computer system (willing to train right candidate).
- Operation and Troubling Shooting Electric Valves.
- Main line repairs 4 – 12”.
- Operation of heavy equipment (Tractors, skid steers, forklift, etc.).
- Pump House Knowledge (understanding of the pumps and operations).
- Understanding of soil agronomy.
- Knowledge of day to day golf course maintenance.
This is a full-time, 40hrs/week, year round position, with benefits (complimentary round of golf per week, Driving Range usage, restaurant discounts) and an hourly wage of $24.
