Quality Control Inspectors are responsible for performing visual weld, paint and other inspections to code and non-code standards ensuring they meet or exceed Tornado Global Hydrovacs quality standards based on our engineered drawings, also to perform a variety of administrative functions and projects as assigned. By ensuring high-quality work and materials throughout, the Quality Control Inspector creates value, providing customers a finished product that meets or exceeds their expectations.

Key Responsibility Areas
Quality Inspections
- Reviews parts and assemblies for quality, workmanship, proper assembly and functionality.
- Monitors vendor/supplier’s quality issues, recommends when a nonconformance report should be completed, and when necessary, devises and implements corrective actions.
- Reviews parts identified in the production process as NCR or DMR and complete follow-up.
- Completes root cause analysis, properly documents the outcome and determines corrective actions.
Administrative Functions
- Completes or supports documentation to ensure deficiencies are fixed, retested and signed off before parts re-enter production
Projects / Other Assignments
- Works on related projects or initiatives assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12, related coursework and/or certification.
Experience
- Previous quality assurance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial/automotive paint is an asset.
- Familiarity with welding and welded parts is an asset.
- Working knowledge of hydrovac equipment an asset.
Skills
- MS word, excel, and outlook. Ability to read engineered drawings.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an industrial shop/yard that can be dusty and noisy and may present a variety of hazards. Work requires standing, kneeling, climbing, and crawling under equipment. Work can be indoors or out, in a wide variety of temperature and weather conditions.
- Workers must provide CSA-approved safety footwear and work clothing appropriate to conditions.
- Personal Protective Equipment is provided, and consistent use of appropriate PPE is a requirement of this position.
