Matrix HR is currently recruiting experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for exciting opportunities in mining and heavy civil construction projects with our Client. Opportunities are available at remote open-pit gold mine sites in Lynn Lake, Manitoba and Dubreuilville (Magino), Ontario.
These positions are ideal for operators with experience running production excavators and/or dozers in mining, earthworks, roadbuilding, and large-scale civil construction environments. Successful candidates will join a safety-focused team working on some of Canada's premier open-pit mining projects
Start Date: Immediately
Responsibilities
- Operate large production excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Load articulated and rigid-frame rock trucks
- Perform mass excavation, earthmoving, haul road construction, stockpile work, and production mining activities
- Conduct daily inspections and complete equipment reports
- Follow all site safety and operational procedures
Qualifications
- Experience operating full-size excavators such as CAT 336/349, John Deere 870/290, Komatsu 290, or similar equipment
- OR experience operating production dozers such as CAT D6-D8, John Deere 650, or Similar-sized production dozers.
- Previous Open-Pit mining, heavy civil, roadbuilding, or earthworks experience preferred
- GPS machine control experience is an asset
- Finishing experience including grading, ditching, sloping, and trimming is an asset
- Previous camp or rotational project experience is an asset
Mandatory Requirements
- Candidates must be willing and able to work BOTH day and night shifts. Shifts alternate every 20-day rotation and are a condition of employment.
- Must be able to work a 20 Days On / 10 Days Off rotational schedule
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test, including marijuana
- Must be comfortable working in remote camp-based environments
- Candidates must be willing and able to work BOTH day and night shifts. Shifts alternate every 20-day rotation and are a condition of employment.
Travel Hubs: Winnipeg, MB and Sault Ste. Marie, ON (project dependent).
