Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct tax consultations with clients in-person or virtually (via email, video chat)
- Prepare accurate and complete tax returns (including T1 personal filings) and complex returns (e.g., trusts, partnerships, T2 & T3 filings)
- Drive business growth by enhancing client retention and promoting additional services
- Provide CRA support (e.g., handling tax notices) and offer audit representation
- Maintain compliance with CRA regulations and provincial requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Recently graduated from currently enrolled in a related college or university program
- Basic knowledge of Canadian tax procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and CRA regulations accurately
- Successful completion of a recognized Canadian tax proficiency assessment
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
- Basic computer proficiency and strong communication skills (spoken and written)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Prior experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
- Working towards a Certified Tax Preparer (CTP) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Knowledge of Canadian-compatible tax and accounting software (e.g., DT Max, Sage)
- Experience with complex tax returns, tax planning, and/or CRA audit support
- Experience in sales or marketing to support client growth initiatives
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range listed for this position is subject to provincial minimum wage laws. Individual pay depends on factors such as experience, education, skills, performance, and work location.
