Oldman River Brewing is looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
This is a working management position for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen but also understands the business side of running a successful restaurant.
You’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including food costs, inventory, ordering, staffing, scheduling, training and food preparation.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
· Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
· Work alongside the kitchen team during service
· Order food and manage supplier relationships
· Manage inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels
· Monitor ingredient pricing and control food costs
· Maintain portion control and reduce food waste
· Maintain accurate recipe and menu-item costing
· Create and manage kitchen staff schedules
· Plan and schedule daily and weekly food preparation
· Hire, onboard and train kitchen employees
· Develop and coach kitchen staff
· Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
· Ensure food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards are followed
· Identify opportunities to improve kitchen efficiency and profitability
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the kitchen.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable and comfortable making decisions. You should be equally comfortable reviewing food costs and inventory as you are jumping onto the line during a busy service.
Previous kitchen leadership or management experience is strongly preferred.
You should have:
· Strong kitchen and food-service experience
· Experience supervising or managing employees
· Good understanding of food cost and portion control
· Experience with inventory and ordering
· Strong organizational and scheduling skills
· Ability to train and develop employees
· Ability to work efficiently during busy services
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· A practical, team-oriented management style

Oldman River Brewing is an independent craft brewery and restaurant located in Lundbreck, Alberta, between Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass.
Our restaurant serves a mix of smoked meats, pizza and pub-style food alongside our locally brewed craft beer.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
