We are actively recruiting for a friendly Personal Support Worker to assist a private Female employer who is in the end stage of COPD lung disease with all activities of daily living.
The employer enjoys doing puzzles, arts and crafts and reading books.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly personality and be a non-smoker.
Location:
- Qualicum Beach (Near Qualicum Beach Train Station)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- Permanent shift
- Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Saturday/Sunday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Ability to provide occasional backup coverage
Compensation:
- $25.00 an hour during probationary period
- $26.00 an hour after probationary period
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Daily personal care such as bathing (Full shower and sponge bath)
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping duties such as laundry
- Training around showering for a person with COPD lung disease will be provided
- Different medication administration during showers as the employer can run out of breath quickly
Required Qualifications:
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 Including boosters (3 plus doses)
- Must have your annual Flu vaccine
- Nonsmoker
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with a small terrier corgi cross dog
- Must be willing to train
- Friendly demeanor
