Job Summary
The QA Lead / FSQ Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance to food safety programs (HACCP, BRCGS, SFCR). This includes Good Manufacturing Practices compliance, verifying production and QA records, performing swabbing and sampling, preparing Meat Traceability and Export documentation, initiation and issuance of Hold, initiation and implementation of corrective actions. The QA Lead / FSQ Coordinator is responsible for participation in all internal/third party/CFIA audits, schedule and coordinate activities related to food safety and quality objectives, internal audits, validations and mock recalls. The QA Lead / FSQ Coordinator is responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues.
Location: Dufferin and Finch
Schedule: from7:30 am - 8:00 am to 16:30 pm -17:00 pm
But flexible to come 4:00 am for some of the tasks and sometimes coming early (5:00am) backing up morning QA Tech or stay late backing up afternoon QA Tech.
Core Responsibilities:
· Maintain, update, implement and verify documents and processes and perform reassessments.
· Verify and validate the critical control points and process controls.
· Conduct record and on-site verifications to ensure written program matches current processes.
· Coordinate with CFIA and follow-ups on CVS (Compliance Verification System) Reports.
· Develop training materials and conduct initial and refreshment trainings.
· Assist internal and third-party audits (CFIA, BRCGS, customer), responsible for follow-up on non-conformances and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
· Assist the annual re-assessment of the facility prerequisite, records and policies and procedures requirements to ensure program objectives and food safety programs are met.
· Coordinate food safety environmental pathogen monitoring programs includes coordinating supplies, as well as collection of swabs/ samples and submission for third party analysis.
· Initiate risk assessments of food safety and be able to implement strategies to eliminate / minimize risks.
· Back-up to the Quality Manager (vacation coverage, illness, etc.), support to crisis team and as back-up recall coordinator.
· Ensure timely completion of monthly and yearly assessments (facility, brittle plastic, knife inspection, etc.).
· Coordinate hold and release activities and follow-ups on non-conformance incidents
· Assist with analysis of data to determine root cause of deficiencies and provide feedback on performance.
· Ownership of labelling program including: carton artwork review, corrugate label generation and maintenance, obsolete label destruction.
· Assist with customer complaints and escalate where required.
· Maintain supplier approval & monitoring program, issue CAR, as required & escalate where required.
· Backs up QA Technicians, in case of absence.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $31.25-$33.65 per hour
