Adult Community Services provides a wide range of addiction and mental health treatment to the residents of the City of Edmonton and surrounding suburban areas. The ACS program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care providing quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addictions and Mental Health. Services are offered to clients and their families in the least intrusive and most appropriate manner and include assessment, individual/group treatment and consultation. As an Admin Support III you will be the first point of contact clients have with the clinic/services. You will provide a warm, welcoming environment in person or by telephone. This position is responsible for reception and involves working closely with and providing admin support to the multidisciplinary team. The Admin III will have great interpersonal and administrative skills and is responsible for processing high volumes of public and staff inquiries, both in-person and via telephone, and plays a key role on the team in terms of client engagement. The position requires strict adherence and sensitivity to confidentiality. The working environment is busy with many overlapping needs and demands throughout the day requiring flexibility, creativity, collaboration and the ability to multi-task effectively. Developing and supporting administrative relationships with staff, partners, and other multi-agency professionals is essential. Other assigned duties may include data collection, scheduling, time entry, supply ordering, maintenance of work queues, document scanning and other related tasks. This role involves extended periods of sitting with repetitive hand movements, keyboarding, and telephone handling, with the ability to work in a busy, noisy work environment.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent. 1-3 years administrative experience in healthcare community, or mental health settings. 3+ years of experience working in an addiction and mental health program required. Attention to detail and professional, courteous, prompt customer service. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize. Must be flexible and able to meet the demands of changes in work assignments. Must be able to lift file boxes up to 20lbs. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Strong communication skills including conflict management and resolution. Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. Must have proficient use of the English language oral and written. The ability to multitask and manage a high volume of confidential clinical information is required. Must have working knowledge of privacy legislation (ATIA and POPA) and the Mental Health Act. Candidate must be able to tolerate regular twisting and reaching, repetitive hand movements, keyboarding and telephone handling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset. Strong skill set with electronic medical recording (EMR/Connect Care).
