Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately entering invoices, maintaining vendor records, supporting the accounts payable process, and ensuring financial information is processed in a timely and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate is highly accurate, comfortable working with large volumes of data, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter accounts payable invoices and financial data into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Review invoices for completeness, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Verify vendor information and maintain accurate vendor records.
- Process invoice batches and prepare payments according to company procedures.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and identify outstanding items.
- Support the accounting team with administrative and data entry tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in data entry, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or an administrative accounting role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Experience processing high volumes of invoices.
- Familiarity with ERP or financial management systems.
- Ability to perform data validation and reconciliation tasks.
