Job Title: Retail Operations Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager, General Manager, Owner
Locations: Multi-site (3 current retail bakery locations; 4th opening soon)
Employment Type: Full-time, forty (40) hours per week
Position Summary:
We are looking for a thoughtful, hands-on Retail Operations Manager to lead and support the day-to-day operations of our retail locations. This role is essential in maintaining a warm, welcoming customer experience while ensuring operational excellence and consistency across all sites. With three busy bakeries and a fourth on the way, the ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership, organization, and hospitality to help our retail teams thrive.
Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Development

Support and guide retail store managers and front-of-house teams across all locations.

Foster a strong sense of hospitality, product knowledge, and team culture.

Oversee scheduling, hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing team development.

Provide regular coaching and feedback to help team members succeed.
Retail Operations & Efficiency

Ensure each location runs smoothly and consistently, from open to close.

Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising.

Monitor inventory levels for pastries, breads, and retail items; work with production and purchasing teams to minimize waste and stockouts.

Standardize operational procedures and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Experience

Champion an exceptional customer experience at every location: warm, informed, and efficient service.

Respond to escalated customer feedback with care and urgency.

Help train staff to confidently speak about ingredients, allergens, and the story behind our products.
Sales & Store Performance

Monitor daily and weekly sales metrics and trends across all bakeries.

Work with managers to set achievable sales goals and track progress.

Support seasonal promotions, new product launches, and store events.
New Store Launch Support

Assist in all phases of the upcoming fourth location opening, including staffing, training, setup, and operational rollout.

Help integrate new team members and systems into our existing company culture and workflows.
Cross-Team Collaboration

Coordinate closely with production, HR, creative, and finance teams to ensure each location has what it needs to succeed.

Relay insights and feedback from retail teams to improve overall company operations and communication.
Qualifications:

3 years minimum of management experience, preferably in a bakery, café, or hospitality setting

Strong people leadership skills and a warm, customer-first mindset

Experience managing staff schedules, performance reviews, and operational procedures

A passion for food, especially bread and pastry, and a willingness to learn the details of our products

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities across locations

Comfortable interpreting sales data and using it to inform decisions

Able to travel regularly between store locations and assist with early mornings, weekends, or coverage as need

Able to work 5 days a week, Weekend availability a must. 16 hours a week will be spent on the floor between the 4 locations and 24 hours spend on administrative duties.

Food safety or First Aid certification is an asset
