The Holiday Inn Vancouver - Centre is seeking a skilled and professional Part-Time Relief Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Production: Prepare and cook meals in strict accordance with established menus, recipes, and specific dietary requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all culinary output meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to all regional food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional kitchen experience. Experience within hotel dining and banquet operations is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
- Strong culinary background with proficiency in preparing a diverse range of dishes and cuisines.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt smoothly to changing operational demands.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and guests.
- Attention to food specification accuracy, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Ability to endure long periods of standing and safely lift heavy kitchen equipment or inventory (e.g., large pots, crates).
- Food Safety Certification: Comprehensive knowledge of standard food safety and sanitation guidelines.
