Duties
- Safely operate school buses along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations at all times
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by following proper loading and unloading procedures
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address concerns
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the bus to verify mechanical safety and report any issues promptly
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor to foster a positive atmosphere for students of diverse backgrounds
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those requiring special assistance or senior care support
- Keep accurate logs of routes, passenger counts, incidents, and maintenance needs
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or in a customer service role is highly valued
- Valid Class 1 or 2 with School bus endorsement required; previous experience driving large vehicles is preferred
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting
- Multilingual abilities are a plus—fluency in English or other languages can enhance communication with diverse student populations
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders
- Experience in teaching or caregiving roles can be beneficial for supporting students’ needs during transit
- Writing skills for completing reports, logs, and documentation accurately

Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
