McMan is hiring a Full-Time Youth Mentor for our FRN Program based in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas.
About the position:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Youth Mentor is responsible for providing supervision and programming to children/youth on an individual and group basis. This position is responsible for overall case management and case coordination activities of the person served, within the parameters of the Family Resource Network (FRN) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review referrals with the Program Manager to provide programming based on developmental needs.
- Provide skill-building to support intellectual growth to children and youth aged 12-24 on an individual and group basis.
- Case management (including record keeping and report writing), group facilitation and collaboration with community partners.
- Refer children and youth to appropriate community resources.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Human Services Degree or Diploma, with related experience in the Human Services field and a member of good standing with the applicable professional association. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Previous experience working with youth and facilitating programming to small groups.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational and computer skills as well as a strong knowledge of community resources.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule. Typical schedule is weekdays including after school and evenings, with occasional Saturdays based on the needs of the youth and community events.
- Reliable vehicle, valid class 5 Driver’s Licence, and minimum $2M third party liability insurance, Driver’s Abstract with less than six demerits.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector within the last six months.
- Clear Child Intervention Record Check within the last six months.
- Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate
