Are you an enthusiastic, experienced, and inspiring Registered Massage Therapist with a passion for leadership, training, and development? We need you to lead our talented team of Registered Massage Therapists. This unique hybrid role blends a massage therapy practice with leadership, coaching, and management. You’ll be both a practicing RMT and a trusted leader who ensures the team thrives.
ROLE DESCRIPTION As Lead RMT and Wellness Director, you’ll bring heart-centered leadership, organization, and vision to elevate both client experience and team performance. You will be responsible for leading and guiding our outstanding wellness team to deliver exceptional care. A flexible schedule with weekend and evening availability is a must. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing training programs that support the growth and success of our staff. By fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, you will ensure both clients and team members thrive.
You will manage daily operations, address and resolve customer and staff concerns, and continuously explore and integrate new wellness modalities to drive the ongoing success of the business.
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, the ideal candidate will actively perform massage services and lead by example, setting a high standard for quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead by example as an active, practicing RMT providing exceptional client care.
- Coach, mentor, and support team members to grow their confidence, skill, and business success.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and development meetings.
Operations & Organization
- Oversee therapist scheduling, time management, and room utilization.
- Maintain high standards of service delivery, cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Monitor KPIs such as rebooking rates, upgrades, and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with management to plan promotions, events, and training opportunities.
Human Resources & Administration
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training new therapists.
- Handle HR-related documentation, performance management, and scheduling concerns. Uphold compliance with provincial regulations and ethical standards.
Client Experience & Service Excellence
- Support the creation of memorable, client-centered experiences.
- Lead by example in rebooking, service upgrades, and client communication.
- Encourage therapists to grow their professional confidence and business ownership mindset.
Qualifications
- 2200 hour Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with any provincial association (required).
- City of Calgary Practitioners License (required).
- Minimum 2 years of management or leadership experience, preferably in a spa or wellness environment.
- Strong HR and team leadership skills — coaching, communication, and accountability.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Passionate about mentorship, professional growth, and building a supportive culture.
