Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00
What you'll do
Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, the Treasury Professional plays a key role in managing BC Hydro’s liability, cash, and
banking management portfolio. This role supports the integrity, efficiency, and risk management of critical treasury
operations- particularly non-standard payment processes and banking functions. You will collaborate across business
groups and with external parties to ensure robust, compliant, and forward-looking treasury processes.
Banking & Payment Operations:
- Manage and oversee key treasury payment processes, including wire transfers and banking information changes.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standards, policies, and procedures for banking and payment processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and banking rules.
- Maintain documentation to meet legal and regulatory standards.
Banking Strategy & Relationship Management:
- Formulate and communicate banking strategies aligned with BC Hydro’s goals.
- Negotiate and manage banking arrangements to meet business needs and optimize service quality and cost-efficiency.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners and external parties.
Project Leadership & Strategic Support:
- Lead and manage banking-related projects.
- Prepare and present recommendations on banking strategy, projects, and operational changes.
- Collaborate with leadership to support and influence decisions related to banking, payments, and liability management.
Cash & Liability Management:
- Provide corporate treasury services in areas such as banking, cash management, liability management, and risk
management.
- Prepare, support and manage cash and liability forecasting and reporting.
- Prepare and respond to reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current on market trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Identify opportunities for process and control improvements.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CFA or CPA designation, or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is preferred.
