Red Top Pizza is looking for a reliable and hardworking Pizza Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our team.
We specialize in Detroit-style pizza and are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate has previous pizza or kitchen experience and is able to help with everything from making dough and sauce to preparing pizzas, handling orders, and keeping the kitchen organized.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, maintains high food-quality standards, and works well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and make pizza dough according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Prepare pizza sauce and other house-made ingredients
- Stretch, portion, top, bake, cut, and package pizzas
- Prepare vegetables, meats, cheese, sauces, and other ingredients
- Complete daily kitchen prep and restocking
- Follow Red Top Pizza recipes and portion standards consistently
- Operate ovens and other kitchen equipment safely
- Take customer orders when required
- Use the POS system for dine-in, pickup, and delivery orders
- Handle orders from delivery platforms such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleaning
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
- Monitor ingredient levels and inform management when items need to be restocked
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner periods
- Provide friendly and respectful customer service
- Work together with other team members to keep restaurant operations running smoothly
Qualifications
Previous pizza-making or restaurant kitchen experience is strongly preferred.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience making pizzas or working in a commercial kitchen
- Understands basic dough preparation and handling
- Is comfortable preparing sauces and ingredients
- Can follow recipes and portion measurements accurately
- Is comfortable using or learning a restaurant POS system
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Has good communication and teamwork skills
- Is dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Maintains a clean and professional workspace
- Can stand for extended periods during a shift
- Is comfortable completing cleaning and kitchen duties
- Is available for evening and/or weekend shifts when required
Experience with Detroit-style pizza is an asset but is not required.
