Duties
- Greet guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently to ensure a positive first impression.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or restaurant offerings.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros POS, ensuring timely and correct delivery.
- Serve food and drinks with professionalism and attentiveness, catering to guest needs throughout their dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Manage waitlists during busy hours, providing accurate wait times and seating arrangements.
- Maintain cleanliness of the host stand, dining area, and surrounding spaces to uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with closing duties, including resetting tables and preparing the host stand for the next shift.
Skills
- Proven experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality roles within restaurants or similar settings.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS; previous hotel or food service experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food service procedures, and hospitality standards.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a friendly demeanor under pressure.
- Attention to detail in taking orders accurately and managing reservations efficiently.
- Professional phone etiquette for handling reservations and guest inquiries courteously.
