Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary team. Duties
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies
- Collect, label, and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue specimens
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and laboratories
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff
- Support administrative tasks including filing, record keeping, and appointment scheduling
- Help with inventory management by stocking supplies and ordering as needed
- Provide compassionate care to animals including feeding, bathing, and comfort measures
Skills
- Prior laboratory experience is highly desirable for accurate sample collection and processing
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and clients
- Good communication skills to collaborate with veterinary staff and clients
