Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team in delivering high-quality meat products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, butchery, and food safety standards. The Meat Cutter will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Duties
- Perform precise meat cutting and trimming according to product specifications
- Handle meat products safely, adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Prepare meat for sale by portioning, packaging, and labeling products accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in accordance with health regulations
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet regulatory standards to prevent contamination
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
Experience
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat preparation, is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Experience with meat cutting techniques, including using knives and saws safely and effectively
- Familiarity with packaging methods for retail or wholesale meat products
- Kitchen experience or background in food preparation is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety protocols
