Doug Tarry Limited has been committed to our customers in St Thomas and the surrounding areas since 1954. Abode Home Comfort (a division of Doug Tarry Limited) is currently seeking a full-time HVAC Technician.
Reporting to the Abode Home Comfort General Manager, this position will ensures the safe, reliable, and code-compliant installation, service and maintenance of gas fireplaces, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC systems. The role supports residential and commercial clients with deliverance of high quality workmanship, resolving technical issues efficiently, and providing excellent customer service in retrofit and new constructions environments.
As part of your duties and responsibilities as a HVAC Technician, you will:
- Install, service and maintain gas fireplaces, gas piping, and ventilation systems.
- Perform retrofit installations in existing homes, ensuring safety compliance and minimal disruption
- Work on new construction projects, coordinating with builders and trades to complete rough-in and final installation
- Diagnose and repair technical issues related to gas appliances and systems
- Ensure all work complies with customers and educate them on safe operation and routine maintenance
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
You will need the following skills:
- Valid gas Technician 2 (G2) license 308a or 308R certification is required
- A 313D or 313A is an asset
- Minimum 2 years experience in gas appliance installation, with a focus on fireplaces
- Strong understanding of sheet metal installation, venting systems, gas piping, and HVAC controls
- Proven problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Valid Driver's license with clean driving record
Compensation is competitive and based on experience, skills and qualifications.
