OVERVIEW
The Kitchen Helper role is critical in the daily food and beverage operations at Parq Casino. The Kitchen Helper is responsible for cleaning dirty dishes, keeping the dishwasher area tidy, and helping cooks to prep as needed. They are responsible for ensuring high standards in cleanliness, punctual, and consistency as per the standardized expectations. Our ideal candidate would be able to work evening and overnight shifts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Maintain a clean, organized workstation and uphold high hygiene standards
-
Perform dishwashing duties and ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitized
-
Ensure a safe work environment by following health and safety guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations

Assist cooks with food preparation and portioning according to standardized recipes
-
Provide professional customer service in accordance with company standards
-
Foster effective communication and teamwork with all staff members
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role

Strong team player with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues

Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong planning and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Flexible schedule to meet the demands of a casino environment

Willingness to learn new skills and techniques

Friendly, approachable and professional demeanor, with a respectful attitude and conduct at all times
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES REQUIREMENTS

Ability to obtain a valid GAMW License

Ability to complete all BCLC Certifications

Serving it Right Certification

Food Safe Certificate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to lift, handle, and transport materials that are over 20lbs

Required to sit, stand and walk during working hours
