About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Welder/Fitter with a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for quality workmanship. This role focuses primarily on the repair, service, modification, and installation of heavy equipment attachments, both in our Cambridge shop and at customer locations. While welding and fabrication are important aspects of the position, success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues in the field

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all-position welding using SMAW and FCAW
- Repair, modify, and rebuild heavy equipment attachments
- Perform fitting, fabrication, and welding as required to support repair and service work
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues on customer equipment
- Operate gouging, plasma cutting, and torch cutting tools
- Safely operate cranes and forklifts
- Install and assemble heavy equipment attachments on-site
- Ensure proper fit, function, and quality of components
- Troubleshoot installation issues
- Work both in-shop and in the field as needed
- Provide responsive service and technical support to customers in the field
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy plate welding/fitting
- Valid SMAW and FCAW welding tickets (current or previously held)
- Strong mechanical repair skills and blueprint reading ability
- Experience with crane/forklift operation and a valid G class driver’s license
- Comfortable working independently and on customer sites
- Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in supervisory training
