Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Fuel Analyst to join their team in Dartmouth. This is an engaging contract opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in accounting and financial analysis within a fast-paced transportation environment. As the successful candidate, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of fuel-related transactions and reporting.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Reconciling daily yard tank transactions and maintaining accurate yard tank balances
-
Performing yard tank analysis and preparing regular reports
-
Processing fuel transactions accurately and efficiently
-
Administering and filing IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) reports
-
Reconciling, analyzing, and maintaining fuel general ledger accounts and subledgers
-
Managing fuel cards and transponders for company operations
-
Responding to inquiries from internal stakeholders, including drivers and managers

Assisting with ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
Experience & Attributes for Success:
-
Accounting diploma or minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or analyst role

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Ability to quickly learn new software and systems
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet recurring monthly deadlines

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal customers across the organization
