Overview
Neegan Technical Services is currently accepting applications for a full-time position as a Geotechnical Instrumentation Monitoring Technician. The successful candidate will be able to work in the field in a variety of weather conditions. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with other team members and the client to monitor the mining and tailing structures at the client site. Flights and camp accommodations provided.
Qualifications
Diploma and/or Degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical or related field is considered an asset
Being ready and able to work in adverse weather conditions
Valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract
Competent working with Microsoft Office Suite
Heavy lifting is required and candidate must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be comfortable operating ATVs and towing trailers
Have SAFETY as a first priority and through his/her actions demonstrate the importance of the following, but not limited to, all Safe Work Practices and Safe Work Procedures
Job Duties
Working in a team setting to monitor the performance of tailings and mining structures for changes in pressure and ground movement
Entering data and ensuring that field readings are below threshold levels and notifying the supervisor when readings exceed the trigger criteria
Operating ARGO to collect data from instruments that are inaccessible by truck
Driving off road to access instruments
Working safely around heavy equipment
Preparing reports to present to the team lead or coordinator

This is a shift based position working 7 days on, 7 off
