AFPS – Accurate Fire Protection & Security is a well-established, full-service fire protection company based in Vaughan, Ontario. For over 25 years, we have provided inspection, testing, maintenance, repair and verification services to more than 200 high-rise residential properties throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
As a registered member of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA), we are committed to safety, quality workmanship and developing the next generation of skilled technicians.
We are currently looking for a motivated Junior Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Systems Technician who is eager to learn, grow and build a long-term career in the fire protection industry. If you have a strong work ethic and an interest in technical or electrical systems, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Working alongside experienced technicians, you will:
- Perform annual and monthly inspections of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and portable fire extinguishers.
- Assist with service calls, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Participate in fire alarm system verification projects.
- Learn to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions as per the Ontario Fire Code.
- Complete digital inspection reports using our paperless UPTICK inspection software.
- Assist senior technicians with larger inspection and repair projects.
- Develop the skills required to independently perform inspections and service work.
Requirements
We're looking for candidates who have:
- CFAA certification or are currently working toward CFAA certification, or have relevant education or experience in electronics, electrical systems, fire protection, security systems, or a related technical field.
- Approximately one year of related experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
