Overview
We are currently seeking reliable and motivated Packaging Operators to join our team in a dairy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for operating packaging equipment, inspecting finished products, and ensuring products are packaged safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment and who are committed to producing high-quality food products while maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to ensure efficient production
- Perform equipment start-up, product changeovers, and shutdown procedures
- Load and replenish packaging materials including bottles, lids, labels, cartons, films, and pallets
- Inspect finished products for quality, weight, seal integrity, coding, and labeling accuracy
- Report equipment malfunctions, product defects, or production concerns to the Supervisor or Team Leader
- Perform minor machine adjustments within the scope of training
- Complete production records, batch documentation, and traceability logs accurately
- Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, and company food safety requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of packaging equipment and work areas, including end-of-shift cleaning
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper PPE requirements
- Report food safety, quality, safety, or contamination concerns immediately
- Support production efficiency while minimizing waste and downtime
- Flexibility to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts based on production requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging is considered an asset
- Experience in dairy or food processing environments is preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate production equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and accuracy
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Basic English reading and writing skills for completing production documentation
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive movements, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 45 lbs
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to following food safety, quality, and workplace health and safety procedures
