About the Role
Envirotech Geothermal Drilling Corp. is looking for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Lead Driller to join our team. This specialized role requires expert-level operation of our GTD Desco GTD-60DD dual rotary rig to support our expanding geothermal projects.
You will be responsible for leading a crew through complex drilling environments, ensuring that boreholes are completed and loops are installed to the highest industry standards. If you are a technical expert in casing advancement and fluid management, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Rig Operation: Safely and efficiently operate the GTD-60DD dual rotary rig, utilizing its double-head system for casing advancement and borehole stability.
- Geothermal Loop Installations: Lead the full lifecycle of loop installation, including:
- Sizing and preparing U-bend or double U-bend HDPE heat exchangers.
- Managing the insertion of loops to design depth within the casing or open hole.
- Executing precision pressure testing to ensure loop integrity before and after installation.
- Overseeing the tremie-grouting process using high-solids bentonite or thermally enhanced grout to ensure 100% encapsulation.
- Drilling Methodology: Execute drilling programs using Dual Rotary and Mud Rotary techniques, adapting fluid weights and viscosity to manage loss of circulation or formation instability.
- Casing: Manage the installation and removal of overburden casing
