NATURE & SCOPE
The role of the Supervisor is to oversee all aspects of the Child Care Centre. This includes programming, administrative functions and the staff team. The Child Care Centre comprises of infant, toddler, preschool and before & after school age care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and direction to develop positive team interaction between staff, parents, and children.
- Assume liaison between school, parents, children and staff.
- Ensure that the centre meets or surpasses all YMCA Playing to Learn standards.
- Ensure that the centre meets or surpasses all Ministry of Education licensing standards.
- Represent the YMCA in a positive and professional manner.
- Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures as established by the YMCA of Niagara.
- Provide leadership to the Stronger Together Campaign.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum of 2 years licensed child care experience (regulation 137/15).
- Current immunizations as required by Niagara Regional Public Health and the Ministry of Education.
- YMCA Playing to Learn training an asset.
- Food Handlers certification preferred.
- Current Intermediate / Standard First Aid, CPR-C certification.
- Upon hiring, applicants must be 18 years of age and older and submit a clear and satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44lbs.), bending and stooping;
- Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity, and cold.
