Mechanical Superintendent
To work at our Air Products project in Edmonton, Alberta.
SALARY: $70.00 to $80.00 per hour- pending on experience level
START DATE: ASAP
SCHEDULE: 5 days on, 2 days off
HOURS PER DAY: 10 hours per day
PAY SCHEDULE: Weekly Pay (Friday)
SHIFT: Dayshift only
ACCOMODATIONS: N/A must be local to the Edmonton Area
DURATION: 6+ Months
Requirements:
- Superintendent Experience 5+ years in a Superintendent role
- Previous technical, practical and leadership experience, combined with leadership experience in the industry
- Specific large scale module assembly experience is mandatory
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personality types and able to transfer knowledge and mentor others
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Share and believe in Worley’s Safety vision and demonstrate the expected behaviors, competencies and performance associated with their role or task
- Valid Journeyperson ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
- Leadership for Safety Excellence certificate, CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, First Aid, Supervisor Training
- Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as: MS Office suite of tools
Responsibilities:
- Establish direct working relationships and rapport with all levels within the organization, communication skills including verbal and written
- Establish a team-based work environment which recognizes and utilizes the contribution of all team members and involves all employees and other stakeholders in health, safety and environmental performance improvement planning and associated activities
- Coordinate and attend crew tailgates and toolbox meetings
- Assists the project team by providing input to identify key success factors, timing of design and procurement deliverables, and establishing common work breakdown structures
- Plan mechanical work sequencing, trouble shoot, and follow through for up to 100 modules at a time
- Determine pipefitting requirements for module construction
- Address and follow up on all behavioural concerns related to Safety
- Ensure worker compliance with Worley’s Safety Program, Location Safety Plan, Safe Work Practices and Procedures.· Ensure participation with Field Level Risk Assessments and job site safety walks, inspections, and committee meetings all in effort to stride towards zero harm
- Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews and report any near misses to the Construction Manager
- Ensure proper drawings, details, and specifications are issued and are being followed
- Evaluate service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality; advising the project team of status, milestones, issues, impacts, risks, and cost influence factors to the scope of the project
- Coordinate training needs for the Foremen or General Foreman and for your crew as identified by your Foremen and General Foremen (applicable safety tickets)
- Implement detailed day to day plans for crew activities in accordance with the project schedule
- Coordinate appropriate tools and equipment for use per specific discipline and tasks.· Provide supervision and direction to employees and contractors
- Submit weekly progress reports into project management as directed
- Oversee the housekeeping/maintenance of job site
- Other duties as assigned
