Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Industrial Sandblaster / Paint Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This role involves preparing and finishing metal components through sandblasting and painting processes, ensuring high-quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal parts for painting or coating.
- Assist with applying paint, coatings, or finishes to manufactured components using spray guns or manual application methods.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools as needed for assembly or surface preparation.
- Operate forklifts or cranes to move heavy materials or finished products safely within the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, supporting lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize workflow.
- Perform basic measurements and calculations using math skills to ensure proper specifications are met.
- Follow safety procedures related to mechanical operations, welding, and handling hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Basic math skills for measurements and quality checks.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to work safely around machinery and hazardous materials.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production needs.
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
