We are seeking a temporary part-time (0.25FTE) Music teacher. This contract will commence on August 26, 2026 and end on June 25, 2027.
We are seeking a teacher who has:

Educational training and experience teaching the Alberta curricula;

Experience teaching Elementary Music and an ability to incorporate a variety of musical instruments into classroom instruction (eg. Recorder, Ukulele, Orff Percussion etc.).

Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team; utilizing structures and strategies of Collaborative Response;

A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning environment;

A strong belief in parent involvement and subsequent regular communication with home;

Strong organizational and classroom management skills;

An in depth knowledge of, and experience with current outcomes based assessment practices, and an ability to develop multiple forms of assessments including portfolios and projects, in addition to traditional assessments within a music learning environment;

Experience and/or a commitment to include musical place-based learning opportunities for students in the classroom and within the community;

An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, and social/emotional needs within a Music classroom setting;

Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for the same.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
